

Azerbaijan started to write their Eurovision history in this 2008 with the song "Day after day" interpreted by Elnur Hüseynov from Turkmenistan and Samir Javadzade born in Baku, Azerbajian.
They gain their ticket to Belgrade after winning "Land of Fire" the national preselection, where I rathered "If you never back" interpreted by same Elnur Hüseynov.
"Day after day" is a mixure among opera and folk azeri genre of mugham. It's the representation among the goods and the evils "for peace we pray save us from all fears" they said.
They make a nice stage performance but in my opinion a very overrated song at the final countdown gaining a debut entry in a 8th place. In 2009 they get a spectacular 3rd place, but still not my hit. Again in my opinion extremelly overrated but the force of the muslim vote is absolutelly evident.
I still want to think that Azerbaijan can grant us with a much better song than this that you can find at this video:
